Global Partnership for Education Replenishment 2021-2025
Domestic financing and the Global Partnership for Education
In July 2021, the international community came together in London for the Global Education Summit: Financing GPE 2021 – 2025.
Under the political leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, GPE asked partner countries to make political commitments to:
Protect domestic finance to education to pre-COVID levels
Increase education budgets towards the 20% global benchmark or beyond
Commit to policy areas, including equity and efficiency
In support of these commitments, members of parliament have a vital role to play in encouraging their government to prioritize education.
