Executive Director meets with Ghana Parliament Speaker

“It was a huge honour to meet with Speaker Bagbin. The Speaker has a long and distinguished parliamentary career and I greatly valued having the opportunity to hear his experience and insights,” said Mr. Nhan-O’Reilly.

“It was clear that the Honourable Speaker is deeply committed to parliamentary democracy and to connecting parliaments and parliamentarians to support dialogue and political mobilisation to respond to the challenges the world faces.

“I particularly appreciated the Speaker’s valuable suggestions about how a global network like IPNEd can support our members to perform their functions to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4.

“Ghana will host this year’s Comonwealth Parliamentary Conference whihc is a practical demonstration of his committment to strengthening the constitutional, legislative, economic, social and cultural aspects of parliamentary democracy, with particular reference to the countries of the Commonwealth.”
